What makes a website profitable, or not

A showcase website is not judged by its appearance, but by the number of calls and inquiries it generates. Three details make most of the difference, and they are rarely addressed properly.

The phone number must be clickable and visible without scrolling, on mobile as well as desktop. A large portion of your visitors will never fill out a form, but will call if it only takes a single tap.

Loading speed dictates everything else: a visitor who waits three seconds has already left for a competitor. It is also a ranking factor for Google, not just a sales argument.

Who takes care of the website once it is online?

This is the question of the webmaster, and it comes up on every project. A website is not an object delivered once and for all: SSL certificates expire, plugins require updates, forms sometimes stop working without warning, and content ages faster than you think.

Three answers are possible, and none of them is wrong. You manage everything yourself, which is what most of our clients do after training. You entrust the follow-up to someone internally, provided that person actually has the time and not just the responsibility. Or you entrust us with the role of webmaster through our managed services contract, which covers updates, monitoring, backups, and small ongoing adjustments.

We don't impose anything. A large portion of our clients manage their site on their own and only call us for upgrades, which suits us perfectly.

The real bottleneck is content

On almost all projects that fall behind schedule, the cause is not technical: it is the text and photos that do not arrive. This is completely normal; writing about your own business is a difficult exercise when you have a company to run alongside it.

We therefore take the opposite approach to many agencies. Rather than waiting for you to send us a complete document, we conduct an interview, write a first draft based on your answers, and let you review it. Going from a blank page to a working draft is our job, not yours.

When it comes to photos, we tell you frankly whether your existing images are sufficient or if they hurt your brand image. If needed, we refer you to a local photographer: on a showcase website, real photos of your team and premises are worth far more than any stock images.
